Whole Foods is coming, run!

So the heat is rising here in Jamaica Plain. The shit hole that was called Hi Lo has finally closed and the transition to Whole Foods has begun. A very vocal minority group in town wants to keep Whole Foods out as their presence will only raise property values and continue the 'gentrification' of Jamaica Plain. The argument is that the Hispanic community can't afford to shop at Whole Foods and will be forced out. They don't want the potential improvements to the community as they claim they can't afford it. I used to work in this community 30 years ago and it was so bad and crime ridden that no one in their right mind would be caught outside at night so please don't tell me about how bad 'gentrification' will be. I now live here and this seems to me to be racist position to take to keep me and my family out because I am not Hispanic. Currently I drive out of town to either Dedham to the Whole Foods at Legacy Place or to the Star in Chestnut Hill for my groceries and will now be able to walk to the new Wole Foods. They are a welcome change to the neighborhood and I look forward to them moving in. It certainly beats a strip club, adult video store or an abandoned stor front.
