Did 3 miles Monday night and just finished 7 miles tonight. Everything is in good working order. Downloaded this album over the weekend. Quite a good listen. Very much like SRV. Big Strat sound.

Did 6 miles outside this morning that started in bright sunshine and ended in a snow squall. Felt great, and am ready for the 5K I am running with my son next weekend in Southie to support the Boys and Girls Club of South Boston. It's his first race so I am hoping to be able to keep up with him as he will most likely want to fly. Anyway, after my guitar lessons and practice today, I started listening to Pandora and then made the mistake of researching some blues players on ITunes which usually means I buy a bunch of albums. I was going to try and stop this as I am spending upwards of $100 a month on ITunes these days. Anyway, the album cover above is one I downloaded and it's really a great listen. Very clean recording and very well done. I also grabbed another Buddy Guy and Guitar Shorty as well.

So I have mastered the opening licks of Smoke on the Water. Probably not much of an accomplishment given that a 15 year old could most likely master this right away but it's the first thing that I can play that actually sounds like something. I can play it on my Strat and on the acoustic as well so now I need to work on the remainder of the song. This is a pretty amazing album now that I listen to it 30 some odd years later. It really is a great collection of songs. No running this weekend unfortunately. Busy with my grand-daughter and did not eat well at all. Most likely put a few pounds on. This upcoming week will be tough. I have to host one of the rating agencies at the bank I work at and that will consume most of my energy the next 3 days. I am signed up for a 5K in Southie on St. Patricks day so that is my focus right now, not that a 5K is anything to worry about these days.

This is worth a listen to. Buddy motherfuckin Guy.

So I have listened to Bigger Bang, Voodoo Lounge and Undercover so far. Undercover would be my favorite of the three. Undercover, She Was Hot, Tie You Up, Too Much Blood, Pretty Beat Up, Too Tough, All The Way Down are fantastic tunes and make this the best album in the past 20 years I think. Anyone disagree?
